Environment: SWD produces with less material and CO2 compensated
We at SWD have been reducing CO2 for years using various measures. For example, we source all of our electricity from hydropower, from the solar panels on the buildings, and the buildings are heated by heat pumps. Electric motors are the drives of the future, and we are helping to make them more environmentally friendly. We do this with less material and smarter production solutions. Production on our machines on site saves on transportation. This is our contribution to a sustainable future.
Save up to 80% material with SWD technologies
Today’s lamination stacks are still largely punched using classic progressive die cutting. This results in 50% material waste, and additional compromises have to be made when selecting materials. With SWD technologies, we make the complete separation of stator and rotor stacks possible. This means that the optimal material for your application can be selected for each of your components. The stator can be segmented to reduce the amount of material required. Production processes such as the BPS® system produce efficient stator segments and make it possible to achieve CO2 reductions in large-scale production. Today, we have designs that use up to 80% less material thanks to segmentation. The SWD technologies are an important factor for a sustainable reduction of CO2.
Disposal and recycling
Material waste is collected and sorted in our production rooms. We hand over the waste materials to specialist companies. This ensures that they are disposed of properly or recycled. We make sure that truck journeys are kept to a minimum. This is an important contribution to our environment.
